The Lighthouse to Lighthouse Half Marathon & 5K, hosted by the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation, was a hit on Oct. 4. The event sold out with 500 registered runners from across Ontario and raised $93,000 to support the Kincardine hospital expansion and Bruce County’s first MRI machine.
“Race day was magic. There were rainbows over the starting lines and cheering crowds along the routes and at the finish line,” says Race Director Sarah Foster “You could feel the pride in this community. Nearly 100 volunteers made this event possible, and our municipal partners in Kincardine and Huron-Kinloss were phenomenal – their staff went above and beyond to ensure a safe, seamless race.”
The inaugural Fundraising Cup was awarded to Gurbin’s Gang, led by team captain Dr. Jason Murray, for raising $26,200.
“This race was created by the Foundation, for our community, and the response has been extraordinary,” says Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation President Becky Fair “Every runner, volunteer, sponsor, and supporter helped move us closer to bringing modern, accessible care to families across Bruce County. We are deeply grateful.”
