The City of Orillia has announced receipt of a donation of memorabilia and personal items from the estate of Gordon Lightfoot to further preserve and honour Lightfoot’s legacy.
Donations include a portion of Lightfoot’s record collection, awards, furniture, photographs and other items from
his childhood that help tell the story of his life, career and deep roots in Canada and Orillia.
The City will assess the different opportunities to preserve and showcase the collection through public displays, partnerships, educational programming and community engagement.
