A Low Water advisory for part of Huron County’s watershed has ended.
A Level 1 Low Water advisory was issued in early August, following low precipitation and warmer conditions in much of the region.
The Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority says, “watershed conditions have responded well to the heavy rainfall received at the end of August.”
Much of Huron County saw under 15 millimetres of rain for the first twenty-one days August, before several days of heavier precipitation in the latter half of the month, and into September.
ABCA Water Resources Technologist Christie Brown says “We’ve seen streamflows respond positively to the rainfall we’ve received, providing much-needed recovery following the dry conditions experienced through the summer.”
