The Cyprus Lake Campground closure in Bruce Peninsula National Park continues.
Parks Canada says it’s now closed now through to September 16th due to increased bear activity.
A Parks Canada spokesperson, Fatima-Zohra Hamidi told Bayshore Broadcasting News last week, a specific bear has repeatedly accessed human food and other attractants, become food-conditioned, and demonstrated a significant loss of natural fear of people.
Parks Canada says it will continue to assess bear activity and communicate with reservation holders and the public if further closures are needed. It has been closed since August 28th because of the bear.
Grotto parking now closes at 5 p.m.
