Meaford council has approved $12,000 for traffic calming measures on Bayshore Road as part of the Bayshore Road Capital Project.
Based on a review completed by staff, radar speed signs will be installed along Bayshore Road. Staff says speed monitoring should continue following implementation to evaluate the effectiveness of the signs and determine whether additional traffic calming measures need to be considered in the future.
The Bayshore Road Capital Project began construction in 2024 to improve drainage, road conditions, deteriorating culverts and water service infrastructure.
According to the report, the project has faced delays due to expanded project limits, design revisions, utility relocations and contractor scheduling challenges.
As that work continues, staff reviewed a long-term urbanization alternative for the Leith settlement area, including storm sewer infrastructure, full watermain replacement, curbs and sidewalks, which would cost approximately $9 million.
