The Rotary Club of Goderich is asking town staff for support for a new Rotary Cove Arch.
The club is asking for town staff to help with getting public feedback on two potential designs for a new archway for the entrance to Rotary Cove.
Bruce Thomasson and Ann McCauley made a presentation to council at Monday’s meeting, sharing two conceptual designs — one a double arch, and one showing a single arch.
The purpose of pursuing the placement of the new archway woud re-instate the appearance and identity that was previously in place and had to be removed 8 years ago.
Thomasson said that the Rotary Club was hoping for a new arch design to be installed prior to the town’s anniversary celebrations.
The club said that by sharing both conceptual designs would allow potential contractors to choose a design they could build, and then share their cost estimates.
