Some live fire training is going to be completed at the military base in Meaford this month.
The Department of National Defence issued an advisory saying soldiers from 32 Canadian Brigade Group will be conducting live fire exercises Army Training Centre Central in Meaford next week — August 10 to 16 — and again from Aug. 22-29.
“Noise from ranges at the training centre may be heard between 8:00am to 11:00pm on those days,” the Department of National Defence says in a release. “Residents may notice a succession of loud noises during this time. Noise may be heard from weapons and large-calibre guns firing simultaneously.”
“This exercise is purely for training purposes and at no time will safety or security of the public be in jeopardy.”
