Bruce Power supplier partners have made another donation to the Saugeen Amphitheatre project.
A donation of $393,750 from the Saugeen Ojibway Nation (SON) Community Development Fund will help Saugeen First Nation with Phase 2 of its amphitheatre project.
In 2025, Kinectrics donated $500,000 through the fund, supporting the ongoing restoration of one of the largest dry-stone projects in North America.
Phase 2 will see the completion of work on green spaces, the parking lot, an enhanced stone oven space, gardens, plantings and signage.
“We are excited to see Phase 2 of our Amphitheatre project, including the new trail system, move forward,” says Saugeen First Nation Chief Conrad Ritchie. “This project reflects our community’s vision of creating a place where our people can gather, connect with our land, celebrate our culture, and create memories for generations to come. We are grateful for the continued support from Bruce Power and its supplier partners through the SON Community Development Fund as we continue bringing this vision to life.”
Phase 2 includes an amphitheater trail system featuring approximately 750 metres of path extending from the final garden to an exit point off Highway 21. The trail will incorporate a mix of stone and wood techniques, along with several staircases and bridges. It will be the first trail system constructed under Saugeen’s community trail development plan.
Saugeen First Nation is also planning a wedding pavilion and electrical lighting across the site, and continues to raise funds to support these additions.
