Caretakers in Huron County are getting the spotlight in Huron County.
The Gateway Centre of Excellence in Rural Health is accepting nominations for their “Care & Compassion Award,” which recognizes locals who act in a caretaking role.
According to the Canadian Centre for Caregiving Excellence, more than one in four Canadians identify as caregivers, and many experience significant emotional, physical, and financial challenges while supporting others.
The term “caregiver” includes anyone who provides care to others, including healthcare professionals, personal support workers, nurses, physicians, home care providers, volunteers, and informal caregivers supporting family members, friends, or neighbours.

The Caregiver Recognition Event runs September 17th.
