A Hanover resident is facing multiple charges following a traffic stop in the Municipality of Kincardine.
South Bruce OPP responded to several reports about an erratically driven vehicle on Highway 9 at about 7:30 p.m. on July 28.
Officers located the abandoned vehicle and subsequently tracked down and arrested the driver.
The 21-year-old was charged with 10 separate offences:
– Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
– Operation while impaired – blood-alcohol concentration 80-plus
– Dangerous operation
– Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code (two counts)
– Failure to comply with a probation order
– Young driver – blood-alcohol concentration above zero
– Use plate not authorized for vehicle
– Driving a motor vehicle with an open container of liquor
– Owner operating a motor vehicle without insurance
– Failure to apply for a permit upon becoming an owner
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton on Sept. 9.
