The Special Investigations Unit has invoked its mandate following an incident that took place in the Town of Hanover in 2024.
According to a release, South Bruce OPP conducted a traffic stop on Bruce Road 10 in the Township of West Grey on May 13, 2024, at approximately 2:30 a.m.
Police attempted to take an individual into custody, but the person fled. The individual was later arrested by police and reported sustaining injuries during the incident.
The OPP was informed that the SIU invoked its mandate on July 24 and is investigating.
Because the SIU has invoked its mandate, the OPP cannot provide further information.
