The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit is sharing this video “How to Use Naloxone”, a brief training video that provides step-by-step instructions on how to recognize an opioid poisoning and respond using Naloxone.
Naloxone is a lifesaving medication that works quickly and can temporarily reverse an opioid poisoning by restoring normal breathing in someone whose breathing has slowed or stopped. It can be given as a nasal spray or injection, and anyone can carry it – with free kits available at most pharmacies and through many community organizations.
