The Town of Collingwood is cracking down on unleashed dogs with the implementation of a zero tolerance policy.
Under this approach, Municipal Law Enforcement Officers may issue a penalty notice or Provincial Offences Act ticket for a first offence without providing a warning first.
The decision comes after ongoing feedback to the Town regarding off-leash dogs and the safe enjoyment of shared public spaces.
The Policy is intended to improve compliance with existing leash requirements while supporting public safety and responsible pet ownership.
