An alleged drug trafficker faces a list of charges after Grey Bruce OPP seized more than $42,000 in illegal narcotics during a traffic stop in Georgian Bluffs.
The OPP say an officer was on patrol on Grey Road 3 near Sideroad 3 in Georgian Bluffs — south of Keady — this past Saturday morning, and the automated licence plate reader on the police vehicle provided an alert about a car associated with a Highway Traffic Act violation.
Provincial Police say the officer pulled the vehicle over and spoke with the driver.
“During the interaction, the officer observed cannabis products within the vehicle, which led to a further investigation and search of the vehicle,” the OPP say in a release.
Grey Bruce OPP say the search turned up suspected cocaine, methamphetamine and fentanyl. The combined street value of the illegal narcotics seized is more than $42,000.
Police arrested the driver of the vehicle, a 26-year-old Brampton resident.
The accused is charged with multiple counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.
