The Owen Sound North Stars Legacy Ridge Golf Club Junior Elite Women’s League (JEWL) lacrosse team dropped a tight 10-9 decision to Kawartha on Saturday in their opening game of playoff pool play.
Bree Wilkins and Ella Todd led the North Stars with three goals apiece, while London Doyle added two goals and Taryn Weppler chipped in with a single marker. Doyle also had four assists in the game.
The loss drops the North Stars to 0-1 in pool play, with two games still ahead. Owen Sound returns to action Thursday night against the Oakville Lady Hawks, who defeated Orillia in their playoff opener.
