A fundraising radiothon is happening today for the Bruce Peninsula Hospitals Foundation.
The Checkerboard Challenge is underway in Wiarton and Lion’s Head supported by 89.3 CFOS FM and 97.9 The Bruce.
It’s continuing until 6 p.m., with 97.9 The Bruce morning show hosts Longy and Bruffer in Lion’s Head, while 89.3 CFOS FM’s Paul Hill and Robin Woods are in Wiarton.
The radiothon is showcasing Bruce Peninsula community spirit, local interviews, prizes, great music and lots of laughs.

The foundation for Brightshores Health System’s Lion’s Head and Wiarton hospitals raised money to buy equipment for the hospitals. The foundation says, “Much of the equipment needs to be replaced about every seven years. Across the six hospitals, Brightshores Health System requires approximately $6-10 million annually to keep its facilities and equipment up to date.”
