
A 20 year old Barrie man faces 7 criminal charges following an incident in a Bayfield Street restaurant on Tuesday.
Police were called by a man who, while dining with his kids, heard a gun fire – and then heard a man apologizing and claiming it was a BB gun.
Police were provided with a description of the individual, who was spotted nearby a short time later and detained.
Officers seized a .22 calibre GSG-16 Carbine, a spent .22 calibre shell casing, a crowbar, box cutters, a flip pocketknife, a small amount of suspected cocaine, several bills in Canadian currency, and scales.
The seven charges include Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a probation order.
The man is in custody and has a bail hearing tomorrow (June 26th).
