Barrie Police have identified the human remains found in Berczy Park earlier this week, and are now treating the death as suspicious and likely a homicide.
The remains are those of 50 year old Jamie Goudreault from Barrie. Police say his next of kin have been notified.
Mr. Goudreault was known to police and frequently panhandle at Highway 400 off-ramp at Bayfield Street and the Essa Road on-ramp at Fairview Road.
Barrie Police Major Crime Unit are appealing to the public for any information on the victim’s last known movements, contacts, or activities in recent months..anyone with dashcam or surveillance video is asked to contact Barrie Police.
