The REACH Centre Grey Bruce has announced the fifth annual Walk Run for REACH, taking place on Saturday, June 20.
“It’s our biggest annual fundraiser,” says Executive Director at the REACH Centre Jennifer Miller. “We rely on our community in order to deliver the programs we do for youth and adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities.”
This family-friendly fundraising event helps support programming for youth and adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
Starting at 9 a.m., it takes place at the back entrance of the Bayshore Community Centre in Owen Sound, featuring raffle tickets and a silent auction.
Miller says a wide variety of items will be available during the silent auction and raffles, such as a grill, a personalized Owen Sound Attack jersey, various sports items and household goods.
The REACH Centre Grey Bruce does not receive government funding, making corporate sponsors key to its success.
“The breadth and depth of sponsors is just very humbling,” says Miller. “The level of support – it really sends a powerful message about community inclusion and acceptance.”
The event features special guests from the Owen Sound Attack, who will lead participants in a high-energy warm-up and help sell raffle tickets. To keep everyone fuelled and refreshed, McDonald’s will provide beverages, while Pizzaville will treat participants to pizza.
