Huron Perth Public Health has released their 2025 annual report, which details the region’s involvement in the province’s measles outbreak.
The report details the agency’s financials for the year, along with initiatives in immunizations, infectious disease, environmental health, sexual health, and surveillance.
According to the report, the Huron Perth health region became a part of Ontario’s largest measles outbreaks in three decades.
The first case of measles was reported on February 28th, 2025, with 297 cases meeting probable or confirmed case definition in the following months.
Following the outbreak, measles vaccinations jumped.
HPPH says they distributed 10,532 doses of the measles vaccine in 2025, more than double the 4,800 doses in 2024.
Ontario’s measles outbreak was declared over on October 6, 2025.
