Tattoos and tea may be a good combo.
Owen Sound Retirement Community recently held its first-ever Tattoos and Tea fundraiser on May 29, raising $2,430 for Residential Hospice Grey Bruce.
The fundraiser was inspired by the loss of a colleague and close friend to cancer in 2024.
“The fundraiser was incredibly meaningful for our team and our community,” says General Manager of Seasons Owen Sound Polly Kirstine. “What began as a way to honour the memory of someone we cared deeply about became an opportunity to support the vital work of Residential Hospice Grey Bruce. We are grateful to the talented local artists, our residents, team members and everyone who participated and donated.”
Local artists Josh and Kristin from Electric Woodpecker, along with Dan and Bailey from Dutch Ink, generously donated their time and talent, joining the Seasons Owen Sound team for a 12-hour tattooing event last month.
“They worked really hard to make this a very successful event, and it definitely was,” says Kirstine.
Additional activities included tea service, games and temporary tattoos, creating an inclusive experience for supporters of all ages.
