The 2026 edition of the Paisley Blues Fest is almost here.
This weekend, the festival features extended hours and an expanded lineup, with many new artists joining long-time favourites and talented local musicians.
“It’s a way to get people out and get people appreciating music, arts and culture,” says Zach Parker, president of the blues festival committee.
Admission is by donation. The event starts Friday, June 5 at 4 p.m., with music running from 5 p.m. until roughly midnight.
Parker says donations from entry go right back into the community where they are needed most.
“In the past we’ve donated to various Rotary projects,” says Parker. “There is an ongoing playground construction project happening that a lot of our money went to last year. We have donated to the school breakfast club and the school music program in the past.”
He says this year, a good amount of the money will go to the Saugeen Hospice project in Walkerton.
“It just kind of allows us to give some money back to the community through the support of the people who come out to our show,” says Parker.
The event continues Saturday, June 6, from 1 p.m. until midnight, with food trucks and raffle prizes available throughout the weekend.
Parker says that on Saturday, the festival will feature child-friendly activities, such as learning how to play the ukulele and the washboard from festival artists.
