The City of Owen Sound is inviting local heritage sites, museums, historic buildings, cultural spaces, places of worship and community landmarks to take part in this year’s Doors Open event on Saturday, July 18, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Doors Open provides residents and visitors with a unique opportunity to explore some of the community’s most fascinating spaces, many of which are not regularly open to the public.
The event celebrates local heritage, architecture, culture and stories while encouraging tourism, community pride and public engagement.
Locations that are interested in participating can showcase local history, architecture and culture, welcome hundreds of residents and visitors, increase community awareness and engagement, promote programs, exhibits and future events, be featured in event marketing and promotional materials.
Since the program began, Doors Open Ontario events have been hosted in communities where more than 93 per cent of Ontarians live.
