An Owen Sound man has won a $1 million prize playing the lottery.
The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) says Scot C. matched all seven Encore numbers in exact order in the April 7th Lotto Max draw to win.
He says it was a rainy day when he asked his partner to check his ticket as she ran into the store. “After a few moments, she came outside, jumping up and down and waving at me to come in,” he adds, “I went inside, looked at the ticket checker, and was in total disbelief.”
The 64-year-old retiree shared the news with his children, sister, and brother, all of whom thought he was joking at first. “They were all so excited and happy for me,” says Scot.
With his winnings, Scot plans to purchase a new vehicle, complete some home renovations, and invest for the future.
The winning ticket was purchased at Daisy Mart on 14th Street West in Owen Sound.
