South Bruce Peninsula is awarding the next phase of the Berford Street construction project in Wiarton.
It’s a roughly $6.9 million contract.
The work is set to be done from George Street to Elm Street, and will include full reconstruction including storm sewers, watermain and sanitary sewers, replacement of the traffic signals at the Frank Street intersection, sidewalks, streetlights and streetscaping.
Town staff recommended going with Bridge Excavating Ltd., the lowest of three.
The Town will also use a $3 million grant from Ontario’s Connecting Links Fund, and will also use about $900,000 in Ontario Community Infrastructure funding.
Staff say the project’s earliest start date would be June 15th, with completion estimated by mid-December.
