Huronia West OPP have charged one person with dangerous operation and flight from an officer after the driver fled from police in Clearview Township.
On Friday afternoon just after 3 o’clock, officers began a traffic investigation on Highway 26 after a white pickup truck failed to stop for police.
A spike belt was used, causing damage to the vehicle, which was later found in a parking lot on Bayfield Street in Barrie.
The 23-year-old driver from Peterborough was also charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and unauthorized possession of a weapon.
He appeared for a bail hearing on Saturday.
