Meaford Public Library is hosting an event called Hamlet Tales: Authors Among Us to commemorate 25 years since the municipality formed.
The event is a series of free author readings and talks celebrating local voices and the stories that connect Meaford’s communities.
The series reflects on the coming together of the former Town of Meaford, Township of St. Vincent, and Township of Sydenham in 2001.
It also honours the villages and hamlets that have shaped the municipality over the past 25 years.
“Our local stories remind us where we come from and how our communities are connected,” said Councillor Harley Greenfield. “Hamlet Tales: Authors Amongst Us invites residents to gather, listen and celebrate the voices of the Municipality of Meaford that have shaped us in the past, and in the future.”
Advance registration is required for all events so make sure to call Meaford Public Library to reserve your spot.
Three different events will be held on June 18 in Leith, July 4 in Meaford, and August 11 in Bognor.
