A community organization was able to give an update to the MPP on the group’s activities after receiving a seed grant in November.
On Friday, Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MPP Paul Vickers met with representatives from Welcoming Communities Grey Bruce (WCGB) at the Harmony Centre.
The group had received an $84,500 grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) for the “Everyone Belongs” pilot.
The program is aimed at strengthening inclusion, connection, and advancing belonging across Grey-Bruce.
The seed grant went towards funding inclusive spaces through storytelling, cultural exchange, and community dialogue.
Programming over the next year will include the I Belong Grey Bruce Pledge Campaign, along with other cultural activities and engagement opportunities across the region.
WCGB is a collaborative network that has been advancing inclusion since 2005 by supporting newcomers and long-term residents and engaging communities thorough partnerships, research, programs, and advocacy across the region.
The Ontario Trillium Foundation is an agency of the provincial government with a mission to build healthy and vibrant communities.
