The South Muskoka Bears U18 D team recently competed in the OMHA Championship Tournament held in Halton Hills from April 3β5, 2026.
The team delivered an outstanding performance, finishing the tournament undefeated with a perfect record of five wins and zero losses. Over the course of the tournament, the Bears dominated play, outscoring their opponents by a remarkable margin of 24β5.
The championship game saw the Bears face off against the Mariposa Lightning in what proved to be an incredibly competitive and thrilling matchup. Both teams played with determination and intensity, making for an exciting final.
The game was ultimately decided in overtime, with the Bears securing a 3β2 victory. Carter Imrie scored the championship-winning goal with just 2:02 remaining in overtime, capping off a flawless tournament run.
The team will be celebrated locally with a championship parade on Sunday, May 3, 2026. The parade will travel along Salmon Avenue and is expected to arrive at the Muskoka Lumber Community Centre just before 4:00 p.m., where fans and community members are encouraged to gather and show their support.
This achievement is a testament to the hard work, teamwork, and dedication of the players and coaching staff. Itβs a proud moment for the South Muskoka community.
