The Grey Sauble Conservation Authority has downgraded the previously issued Flood Warning for the Town of South Bruce Peninsula to a Flood Outlook Statement for the Grey Sauble watershed.
The change comes after a week of very little rainfall, which allowed water levels in major watercourses across the region to drop significantly.
Despite the improvement, officials say water levels near Shallow Lake, Skinners Marsh, Hepworth, and Gould Lake remain extremely high. Some roads and low-lying properties in those areas are still experiencing flooding.
Environment forecasts call for 10 to 15 millimetres of rain over the next 24 hours, followed by another 5 to 10 millimetres on Tuesday. However, the authority says a significant rise in water levels is not expected over the next seven days.
Residents in affected areas are still being urged to stay alert and take precautions where necessary.
Grey Sauble is also reminding the public to stay away from rivers and streams during periods of high flow, noting fast-moving water and unstable banks can create dangerous conditions.
Officials say they will continue monitoring weather and water levels and provide updates as needed.
