The Ontario Provincial Police say an individual previously considered armed and dangerous has been taken into custody following a series of incidents in Huron County.
Police say the situation began around 11 a.m. on April 2 in Exeter Ontario, when officers responded to a report of two individuals who appeared unconscious inside a vehicle near Main Street South and Wellington Street East. The pair fled when first responders arrived.
According to investigators, the suspects then approached a person, brandished a firearm, and stole their vehicle. One suspect was arrested without incident in South Huron, while the second fled and later stole another vehicle from a different victim.
An advisory was issued to the public as police searched for the remaining suspect, with identifying details shared with media and the public.
Police say the second suspect was located and arrested at approximately 10 p.m. that evening.
There is no ongoing threat to public safety. Officers are thanking the public for their cooperation and assistance during the investigation.
