On April 1st at 3:05p.m. members of the Huntsville O.P.P. responded to a disturbance on Brunel Road near Riverside Public School.
School staff reported a male pacing on Brunel Road, waving a sign and yelling about his disdain for people.
Upon arrival police immediately recognized the male and were aware of his court conditions to keep the peace. The male was arrested and transported to the Huntsville OPP detachment.
As a result of the investigation a 50 year old of Huntsville Ontario is charged with:
· Criminal Harassment
· Breach of Recognizance
The accused was held for a bail hearing on April 2, 2026 before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge Ontario.
There was no risk to public safety nor to the safety of the student and staff. This was an isolated incident.
The school’s concern for their students was their primary concern and they are commended for making sure they were safe.
