A Penetanguishene man is dead after a snowmobile crash on Georgian Bay Sunday evening.
OPP were called to the ice near the southern tip of Beausoleil Island just after 7 p.m. Police say a 62-year-old man
lost control of his machine and was ejected onto the ice.
An accompanying rider stayed with him and called for help, sparking a rescue effort involving an OPP helicopter and a civilian airboat.
Despite life-saving measures by paramedics, the man was pronounced dead at hospital.
