Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police are resuming their search for a missing Georgian Bluffs man in the Inglis Falls Conservation Area.
64-year-old James Van Veen was reported missing on January 26, 2026, after failing to arrive for a scheduled work shift. His vehicle was later located unoccupied in the Inglis Falls parking lot.
After several days of extensive search efforts were paused due to hazardous winter conditions, police say operations will resume today with a significant presence of specialized units. These include the OPP Emergency Response Team, Canine Unit, Aviation Services, and the Underwater Search and Recovery Unit.
Search efforts will focus on trail systems, escarpment terrain, and surrounding areas.
To support the operation, the Inglis Falls Conservation Area parking lot will be closed to the public while a command post is established. Police are asking the public to avoid the area to allow search teams to work safely and without interruption.
Van Veen is described as five-foot-ten, approximately 175 pounds, with shoulder-length grey and white hair, a full grey beard, and brown eyes. He wears prescription glasses and is believed to have been wearing dark overalls and high-cut work boots.
Police are asking anyone who was in the Inglis Falls area between the evening of January 25 and late morning of January 26 to review any dashcam, home surveillance, or trail camera footage for possible sightings.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the OPP. Anonymous tips can also be submitted through Crime Stoppers.
