
Huron OPP say a suspect was chased through Lambton, Perth, and Huron counties before being apprehended outside Auburn on March 18, 2026.
A three-county car chase ended just outside Auburn, with one person arrested.
Huron OPP say they were notified by officers in Lambton County Wednesday of a male suspect driving a minivan towards Huron County on Highway 21.
According to reports, the suspect vehicle was found abandoned south of Bayfield.
Police say the suspect then forcibly entered a residence nearby and demanded car keys from the homeowner, before fleeing toward Bayfield in the stolen sedan, then East to Clinton, Seaforth, and Dublin, where multiple officers attempted to stop the vehicle with Tire Deflation Devices without success.
Just before noon, Huron OPP say they located the suspect vehicle travelling southbound on Base Line in the Municipality of Central Huron where they were able to safely stop the vehicle, and the suspect was apprehended.
Reports say one OPP vehicle sustained damage, along with the stolen vehicle.
Police say an Essex County man is facing numerous charges.
