Saugeen Shores Police have charged two people after a suspicious vehicle investigation.
Police say on Thursday, March 5th 2026 at about 12:45p.m., Saugeen Shores Police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the area of Waterloo Street in Port Elgin.
Police arrived on scene and located the vehicle parked in a residential parking lot. They say open alcohol was observed in the vehicle and a search was conducted under the Liquor Licence Control Act.
Police say two men were arrested and charged.
A 52-year-old male of Sauble Beach was charged with possession of, and trafficking in a schedule one substance, failure to leave premises when directed to, breach of recognizance and having care or control of a motor vehicle with open liquor.
A 44-year old male of Kitchener was charged with possession of, and trafficking of a schedule one substance, having liquor in open container in unauthorized place, and failure to leave premises when directed to.
Police say they were both held for a bail hearing and were subsequently released by the courts with a future court date.
