No one was injured in a house fire in Durham this morning.
West Grey firefighters were called to a blaze at a home on Garafraxa Street North around 6 a.m. Tuesday morning.
A fire department official says working smoke alarms inside the home played a factor in allowing the residents to escape safely and avoid injury.
Firefighters arrived on scene to find a fire that was confined to the basement of the home. It was quickly extinguished.
There is no immediate word on the extent of the damage, or a suspected cause of the blaze.
