Nearly 80 people volunteered in a citizen search in Owen sound and Georgian bluffs in minus 19 degree weather Sunday morning for missing 64 year old James Van Veen.
They were searching alongside Van Veen’s family and Please Bring Me Home — a local group that looks for missing people.
Van Veen went missing on January 26th, and his vehicle was located in the Inglis Falls Conservation area parking lot.
OPP conducted an extensive search but temporarily suspended it for safety reasons.
Please Bring Me Home says in an update, on Sunday, volunteers also provided support with food and drinks, a trailer and heaters, hand warmers and donations.
They say their next steps involve giving the OPP a report of their search locations, and keeping an eye on the weather for a thaw.
They say another search will be scheduled.
