The Town of Saugeen Shores is looking for input on a new playground at Gobles Grove.
They say the current playground there was installed in 2009 and is ready for replacement due to high use and deterioration of the wooden structure.
Gobles Grove is just south of Port Elgin and features a small, but popular beach area.
The Town wants your ideas for a new playground, and would like to know which features you’d like to see, possible themes or inspiration, example photos or drawings of your kid’s dream playground.
They plan to replace the playground this spring, which is part of a 10 year plan.
Saugeen Shores manages close to 30 playgrounds in its parks throughout the community.
They say, typically, a playground reaches the end of its useful life and needs to be replaced about 20 years after installation.
The new playground will be built in the same location and will be similar in overall size to the current one.
The town’s website suggests a number of common playground items for consideration like slides, a saucer swing, climbers and accessibility features.
