Donna Kearney has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Hospice Muskoka by its board of directors.
This change recognizes the growth of the scale and complexity of the Hospice Muskoka organization and acknowledges the scope of the organization’s most senior role.
Since its inception in 1995, Hospice Muskoka has provided palliative and end-of-life support to residents of South and West Muskoka.
It began with volunteer programs and in October 2020 opened its residential hospice, Andy’s House, Ontario’s first Nurse Practitioner led Hospice. Looking forward, Hospice Muskoka is planning to further expand its reach by adding Andy’s House at Home – a service that allows people to make a choice to receive palliative symptom and pain management in their own home. Hospice Muskoka is committed to providing the care that honours the wishes of the person experiencing a life-limiting diagnosis and is striving to continue to expand the services we provide and the number of residents we touch.
Hospice Muskoka is proud to be a leader in the provision of palliative and end-of-life care and an active member of our local Health Care System, supporting integration. Hospice Muskoka’s mission is to walk with people on their palliative care journey. Fully accredited by Hospice Palliative Care Ontario (HPCO) our services are provided by a team of health care professionals and dedicated volunteers who maximize comfort for people who are terminally ill by reducing pain and addressing physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs.
