Oh, that one must have felt good.
Max Delisle scored a pair of goals and Lenny Greenberg was the overtime hero, as the Owen Sound Attack rallied from 2-0 down in the third to beat the Kitchener Rangers 3-2 in Ontario Hockey League action at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre Wednesday night.
Greenberg took a pass from Jake Crawford and then tucked a shot low past Christian Kirsch at 3:40 of overtime to lift the Attack to the win.
The Attack (19-23-1-3) ended a seven-game slide, and won their first game on home ice since Dec. 5.
Kitchener (31-11-4-1) had its eight-game winning streak end, but extended its point streak to 11. Sam O’Reilly and Cameron Reid had the goals for the Rangers.
It was 2-0 Rangers after two, and then the Attack found some comeback magic in the third. Delisle scored his first 6:15 into the period, taking a backdoor pass off the right board from Cole Zurawski and getting it past Christian Kirsch to cut Kitchener’s lead to 2-1.
Then the Attack went to the power play with just over seven minutes to go after an interference call against Gabe Chiarot, and they capitalized.
Just eight seconds into the power play, Zurawski fired a point shot on net that was deflected by Delisle and in — tying the game 2-2.
Both teams had chances in overtime before Greenberg’s winner. Kirsch denied Nansi on a clean breakaway. And Trenten Bennett made a stop on a semi-break by Christian Humphreys.
It was Owen Sound’s second win this season when trailing after two — and the first came all the way back in the regular season opener on Sept. 19, 2025 in London.
Bennett made 38 saves in the win, while Kirsch stopped 17 taking the loss. The Rangers outshot the Attack 40-20 while going 0 for 2 on the power play; Owen Sound finished 1 for 3.
Next up for the Attack is a trip to Brantford Friday to take on the Eastern Conference leading Bulldogs (32-7-6-1).
