Flooding could accompany the snow in Huron County.
The Maitland Valley Conservation Authority has issued a Flood Watch for the Lower Maitland and Nine Mile Rivers, stemming from the previous brief thaw and cold air temperatures hitting Ontario’s West Coast.
Officials say the combination may cause frazil ice formation which will heighten the risk of ice jamming and localized flooding issues in typical areas prone to this issue.
Residents are reminded not to attempt to drive or walk through flooded areas.
Conditions can change rapidly, and access routes can quickly be cut-off.
The Flood Watch is in place until Friday afternoon.
