Residents across Grey Bruce are being invited to lace up their boots and put on their warm coats for the annual Coldest Night of the Year Walks (CNOY).
The annual fundraiser, which brings attention to those who are or at risk of homelessness, is set to go on Feb. 28.
Safe ‘N Sound Grey Bruce will be returning with its walk in downtown Owen Sound.
The United Way of Bruce Grey will also be holding walks in Saugeen Shores, Kincardine, Grey Highlands, and Meaford.
Last winter, walkers, volunteers, donors and sponsors raised more than $131,000.
Participants can either walk two kilometres or five kilometres by themselves or as a team.
United Way Executive Director Francesca Dobbyn says, “It is about showing people facing hard moments that they are are not invisible and they are not alone. What we saw last year was powerful, and it is exactly why this walk matters.”
Additionally, Grey Bruce Mentorship in Hanover will be holding a walk.
More details on how to take part in the walks across the region can be found on the CNOY website here.
