Owen Sound Police say a man is facing several charges following a number of complaints.
On Jan. 22 around 7 a.m., police responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a vehicle driving dangerously and performing donuts in the middle of an intersection, nearly crashing into other drivers.
Police quickly located the vehicle and the male driver a short distance away and arrested the suspect for stunt driving and exhibiting signs of impairment.
A field sobriety test was administered, which police say the man performed poorly.
As a result, the 39-year-old accused was charged with operation while impaired by drugs, dangerous operation, driving a vehicle and performing a stunt, and driving while having cannabis readily available.
The man was released from custody with a court date set for next month. Their licence was also suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days.
A short time after the driver was released, however, police say the man attended the vehicle impound facility and attempted to retrieve his vehicle.
After being refused, police say the man brandished a knife and threatened staff.
Police arrived at the impound facility and arrested the man a second time.
The man is facing additional charges of assault with a weapon, uttering threats, and failing to comply with an undertaking.
The man was held for bail and remanded into custody.
