
Kaeden Hawkins scored the game-winner with just over five minutes to go as the London Knights won a seesaw affair 5-4 over the Owen Sound Attack in Ontario Hockey League action Saturday afternoon at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre.
Masen Wray had a pair of goals for Owen Sound (18-20-1-3), and Max Delisle and Jake Crawford also scored. The Attack dropped their fourth straight and 11th in the past 12 games.
Ryan Brown had a pair for the Knights (25-15-3), which won its third in a row. Braiden Clark and Jesse Nurmi also scored.
The Knights led twice in the first. The Attack led twice in the second. It was 4-4 after two.
Hawkins put the Knights up for good with 5:13 remaining, taking pass in front and then putting a pretty spin move and backhand shot high past Matthew Koprowski.
Aleksei Medvedev made 25 saves in the win, while Koprowski stopped 36 taking the loss. The Knights outshot the Attack 41-29 while going 3 for 7 on the power play; Owen Sound was 2 for 2.
Sunday, the Attack host the Barrie Colts at 2 p.m.
