The City of Owen Sound is planning on making some adjustments to the afternoon transit schedule.
Starting on Feb. 1, Owen Sound Transit will include two longer weekday afternoon trips for a six-month pilot.
The two longer 45-minute trips will happen between 12:30 p.m. and 1:15 p.m. and another one leaving at 3:15 p.m.
Outside these times, the buses will continue to run on a 30-minute schedule.
The city says local transit services face delays in the early and mid-afternoon due to traffic, school letting out, construction, and weather.
While transit has undergone recent changes to improve reliability, the city says keeping buses on a 30-minute schedule during peak times remains difficult.
Additionally, the city will be launching a survey in the spring, allowing customers to share their experiences and provide input on what they thought of the timing changes.
