The Algoma Compass is expected to arrive at the Port of Owen Sound this weekend.
The 207-metre long self-unloading bulk carrier ship is expected to arrive around 8 am on Saturday, January 17th, weather permitting.
Prior to the ship’s arrival, an icebreaker, the Vincent Massey, will be in the harbour before hand, and is expected to be done breaking up the ice by 7:30.
Harbour Master Steve Shaw is advising anyone who is spending time near the water where the boat is docked should exercise extreme caution, as the ice surface has been compromised.
