If you have time this weekend, health officials in Huron County are reminding you to get take preventative measures against respiratory infection.
Huron Perth Public Health says current data shows influenza activity continues to be high across the province, including in the Huron-Perth health region.
“Getting immunized, washing hands frequently, covering coughs and sneezes, wearing a mask when appropriate, and staying home when unwell will help limit the spread of respiratory illness,” says Dr. Miriam Klassen, HPPH medical officer of health.
“Limiting the spread of illness helps to reduce the burden on our healthcare system.”
There are currently outbreaks at several facilities around Huron County — including the Exeter Villa Nursing and Retirement Homes, and Queensway Long-Term Care Home in Hensall.
