The Town of Saugeen Shores is excited to invite the community to the grand opening opening of the new Pryde Aquatic and Wellness Centre In Port Elgin.
The new facility is attached to the existing Plex ice pad and town hall.
Mayor Luke Charbonneau says, “When you combine it with the Plex and the ice surface there, it’s just really an all-around outstanding recreation facility for the community that’s going to serve us for generations to come. I’m confident people are going to love it once they get in there.”
The Pryde Aquatic and Wellness Centre is designed to be a regional hub for recreation and wellness, offering an eight-lane competition pool, leisure pool, fitness centre, indoor track, gymnasium, and multi-purpose program rooms to serve people of all ages and abilities.
The grand opening “Splish Splash Thank You Bash” is set to take place on Saturday, January 24th from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with doors opening at 9:00 a.m. and drop-in attendance welcome throughout the morning.
The event will officially open the long anticipated facility, beginning with remarks at 9:30 a.m., followed by the Mayor’s ceremonial cannonball into the new pool. Guests can enjoy refreshments, activities, tours, and a chance to see the new amenities firsthand.
At 11 a.m., the Breakers Swim Team will host a time trial and there will be family activities at 2:30 p.m.
