Meaford is awarding an over $332,000 contract to install a new splash pad at McCarroll Park.
Council approved the contract to Open Space Solutions during a meeting on Monday.
This comes after in 2021 when council approved the McCarroll Park Master Plan, which identified the replacement of the splash pad as a priority.
While the original concept of the replaced splash pad was larger, it was eventual shrunk to avoid costly service upgrades.
Meaford’s original budget for the project was nearly $460,000, $332,000 of which is bring awarded for the construction. The remaining will go towards project communications, a grand opening event, and any contingencies.
The municipality plans to engage with residents before construction beings in the spring for the anticipated opening in June.
